British Grannies and Mesh Shirts

Some coworkers-- B, D, and T-- and I went to a faux Irish pub/eatery last night for some fun and relaxation, during which we discussed:

Interior Design..

Me: "This wallpaper isn't working for me."

B: "Too fancy?"

Me: "Too granny's parlor."

B: "British granny. Serving tea."

Me: "And it totally clashes with the neon beer signs."


Fashion...

Me: "Oh my god! Is he wearing..? He's wearing a mesh shirt! Did I just stumble into 1990?"

B: "Oh god! A scarf! A scarf tied to the mic!"

Me: "I just saw a Poison shirt!"

T: "The hair.. The hair.."

B: "I know! Did you see that mullet?"

Me: "Mullet? Try plural, hon. And enough hairspray to make the ozone beg for mercy."

Music...

Me: "This band reminds me of a movie.. I'm blanking."

T: "Rock Star?"

Me: "No.."

D: "Rocky Horror Picture Show?"

Me: "No. I'm thinking Stonehenge and a dwarf.."

T: "Spinal Tap!"

Me: "YES! I don't think they're being ironic though."

And last, but not least, sexual politics...

T: "But why can't a gay man and woman have sex together?"

B: "EW!"

Me: "They don't want it all neat and tucked away. They like it loose and dangly."

D: "But don't you marry for sex?"

Me: "HEE! That's cute.."

Good times, good times.
